Special Services

We provide these essential services for the UCD campus and School of Medicine departments at the UCD Medical Center (UCDMC) including:

• Palletized/large freight deliveries
• Banquet table and chair rental for special events
• Academic cap and gown ordering for commencement exercises
• Office moves

Note: Deliveries and installations of new furniture, as well as office chair rentals, are handled by the Furniture Program. For pick-up/disposition of covered electronic devices (CEDs) e-waste and/or inventorial equipment items, complete a Bargain Barn Service Request.

To schedule a work order complete a Special Services request in UCD Buy or call (530) 752-9309. Since Special Services serves both campus and Medical Center locations, please provide an adequate lead time in order to schedule and complete your work order.

An authorized signature from the requestor will be required at the job site. A DaFIS Billing ID or Full Accounting Unit (FAU) is required for billing purposes.

Special Services provides competitively priced on-demand labor for the campus and School of Medicine departments at the UCD Medical Center. To minimize cost, recharges are assessed in 15 minute increments per number of staff assigned to the job, and cover the costs of labor, vehicles and material handling equipment needed to complete the assignment. Upon request, Special Services will provide an onsite estimate prior to scheduling the job.

Service Rates:

• $8.36 per 15-minute interval, per person

Banquet Table and Chair Rates:

• Table: $1.50/day or $33.68/month
• Chair: $0.75/day or $16.58/month

There is no charge for the rental of academic caps and gowns.
